Paraty

It rained the whole time we were in Paraty, but it was pretty cool seeing the flooded streets.
The Botanical Gardens of Rio de Janeiro

The gardens were founded in 1808 by King John VI of Portugal. There are 134 palms planted along the Avenue of Royal Palms. These palms all descended from a single tree, the Palma Mater, long since destroyed by lightning.
